Samara, our founder, started BetterBe with frustration and a vision for something better.
"Like many, I wanted to protect my hair overnight without having to wash it every day. I discovered that pillowcases and bonnets could make a huge difference, but there was a catch: the “best” option was always silk. As a vegan, that felt unfair. Why should the most effective choice for healthy, beautiful hair come at the expense of animals?
That frustration turned into motivation. I began researching alternatives, searching for a fabric that could protect hair just as well as silk, while staying true to my values.
That’s when I discovered 100% bamboo. To be honest, I doubted it at first. Could bamboo really be as smooth and soft as silk? The more I learned, the more excited I became: bamboo wasn’t just comparable to silk, it was better. Eco-friendly, breathable, moisture-retaining, vegan and luxurious to the touch.
And so, BetterBe was born. The name itself is a promise: it better be better than silk, for your hair, for the planet, and for the values we share. "
